He is a poet, novelist, literary critic, and journalist, member of the Romanian Writers’ Union, Romanian PEN Club and the European Cultural Parliament. Previously he was the editor of Caiete critice literary magazine and a Professor of Romanian language and literature in a Bucharest highschool (1980-1989). At present he is a Professor of Literature at the University of Bucharest.
